I very much enjoyed Taylor Hackford's DVD commentary, in which he actually tried to justify the story as a "working class tale," when essentially it was your standard sexist fantasy set amidst factories and the military. (In fact, "Pretty Woman" is almost the exact same story, with Julia Roberts instead of Debra Winger.) Of course, as ridiculous as the Gosset, Jr./Gere smackdown is at the end, corny sap that I am, I still love the goddam movie.

Ya know what? So do I. I feel like my World's Shortest Movie Reviews is really just a big excerise in pithyness.
